How About An Article to Feature a Club?
Dale,
I wanted to thank you for attending our club meeting. Your presentation was a big hit and has inspired many of the club members to plan new diving sites. We hope you enjoyed meeting our club members and we hope you will dive with us soon. We look forward to a return visit.

In closing, I wanted to pass a suggestion on to you... why not include regular article/column in your newspaper about local dive clubs. I was thinking that you could “profile” a different local dive club. You could highlight their recent and planned activities, their members, and even include a photo of the club. I think it would be good for you (you would gain the attention of the clubs), it would be a good deal for the clubs (they would be able to advertise their club), and good for the industry (it would help new divers to pick a club).

I know you already offer a “classified” section for each club but I am suggesting a much more in-depth view of a selected club for this article. You could even have the club supply the major copy, photos, etc. so the work would be small.

Good Diving,

Daryll,
This is actually something that we did a few years ago entitled “Featured Dive Club.” But we rely on the clubs to supply us with the material and it just quit coming. Any dive club want to have their scope, activities and members featured more in depth? E-mail a brief write up (200 to 300 words) with a couple of photos. Email to dale@saintbrendan.com.

Diver With Dentures Needs Mouthpiece
CDN:
Any help out there for those of us with dentures? It’s hard keeping up the pressure needed to retain the regulator in the mouth, as it actually forces the plate from the gums and going sans dentures has the reg rubbing/pressing into the gums—not conducive to a pleasurable dive experience... but ego precludes sharing this info with divemates!

Rich,
A new regulator mouthpiece marketed under the name of Manta Bite reportedly solves this problem because you hold the regulator in your mouth with your cheeks rather than your teeth. Visit their website at www.manta-bite.com. Let me know how it works out.
