ART Fins
Ocean Master has introduced a revolutionary fin that separates the foot pocket from the blade for maximum comfort and transfer of power.
The ART fin was designed to relieve the recurring problem of foot cramping. This fin is built in two separate parts. An independent blade, suspended above the foot pocket, allows the foot and toes to be free of blade drag and torque. The blade does not touch the toes. Joined at the ankle, the design of this two-piece fin is to derive energy directly from your leg and not your toes.
The blade works independently without encumbering the foot pocket. Feet are not affected by the blade movement. The blade is suspended above the foot pocket, and connects to the foot pocket at the ankle to allow the blade to be an extension of your leg rather than your foot.
Torque, rotation and an axis, cannot be found with the independent blade. Your foot, no longer inside the blade, does not move about unnecessarily. The blade grabs hold of your ankle. There is no loss of power. Power generally lost through torque now directly flows to the blade.
ART's V-Split breaks water at the tip of the blade, preventing drag and helping the blade to better cut through water. This one-inch long slit in the middle of the fin, moves water to the back of the blade, quickly and efficiently, eliminating turbulence behind the blade. ART further channels water with side beams that extend to the ankle.
The fin comes complete with quick-release buckles that adjust strap tension with the quick pull of the strap.

Digital
Dive Light
NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems, Inc. has delivered the world's first digital dive light - - the NiteRider Digital NR4000. This light sets a new standard in underwater lighting by incorporating digital electronics into a premium dive light system.
The features of the NiteRider Digital NR4000 include: 8-bit RISC microprocessor power management, dual beam lighting with six levels of brightness, 8-step linear fuel gauge (with "low battery" warning"), automatic reserve tank, and the NiteRider's famous Plug-N-Forget worry-free charging.
Says Robin Jacoway, product manager of NiteRider's dive division: "We set out to make the best dive light possible, and I believe we have accomplished our goal with the NiteRider Digital NR4000. Divers are really going to enjoy this light."
The key to the NiteRider Digital NR4000 is the microprocessor which literally adds brains to the light system. While the microprocessor makes all the important decisions concerning lighting performance the diver can concentrate on what he or she is doing.
The Digital NR4000 system also includes a programmed flashing "SOS" and steady signal beacon in case a diver gets stranded, over-discharge protection (which greatly increases battery life), and SoftStarting (which prolongs bulb life). And every Digital NR4000 shipped is certified to 300 feet in a water tank. Not just a sampling lights are tested, but every system.
"We pride ourselves in the performance of our lights," says Jacoway. "By certifying every NiteRider light to 300 feet we set a standard unsurpassed in the diver industry."
The NiteRider Digital NR4000 is dual beam with six levels of brightness. Custom bulb configurations allow from 8.5 watts to 70 watts. Burn times range from 8 hours to 45 minutes depending on watts used. The system weighs 4.8 pounds for mount, lighthead, and battery (1 pound negative in water). Underwater wet connectors allow the swapping of battery packs in water. A four-position switch on lighthead allows the operator to switch from one beam to the other, or both. A heavy-duty belt clip is included for mounting on either a tank strap or cummerbund. Each system includes a headband and soft wrist mount and hard shell carrying case.
NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems provides high-performance personal lighting for dive, bicycling, military, law enforcement, industrial, and recreational uses. Log onto NiteRider's website at www.niterider.com for complete information.
