California Marine Life

California Marine Life by Marty Snyderman introduces the ocean's many inhabitants to the beach walker, tidepool enthusiast, snorkeler, diver, fisherman and marine naturalist. It groups the diverse lifeforms into categories that make sense to both the casual observer and the serious scientist, presenting life-forms by habitats where they are most likely to be seen: mudflats and marshes, tidepools, sandy beaches, kelp forests, submerged reefs, sandy plains and the unfathomable open sea. Stunning underwater photography and fascinating facts about each species are throughout the book.

This is a practical reference guide to the common marine species found along the California coast, identifying the behavior, habitats and interactions of California's rich kingdom of marine wildlife.

Author, Marty Snyderman, is an award-winning cinematographer whose wildlife footage has been seen on Nova, PBS, BBC, CBS, ABC and the Discovery Channel.

California Marine Life is published in cooperation with the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The book is published by Roberts Rinehart Publishers, ISBN 1-57098-127-2.
