Ocean Master Dry Snorkel 2001 Flex

Ocean Master has introduced a new version of its popular Dry Snorkel that will make it more useful than ever. A flexible lower tube has been added to make the snorkel easier to use by scuba divers. The lightweight pliable barrel drops out of the way when a scuba diver is using a regulator underwater.

Additional improvements to the Dry Snorkel for 2001, including the standard model, include lighter-weight more streamlined yet sturdier construction.

The Dry Snorkel has for 10 years been noted for its completely dry function. The Dry Snorkel may be submerged at any angle even upside-down. Somersaults and various other maneuvers may also be performed without flooding. Key to the snorkel’s exclusion of water is its anti-lock valve system. The three-part moving valve keeps all water out of the snorkel’s breathing tube. A second purge valve immediately expels any water that may seep in through the mouthpiece.

For mouth and jaw comfort, the mouthpiece/purge valve assemble are mounted by a unique ball joint that allows just the correct positioning of the mouthpiece and breathing tube. For further comfort, the mouthpiece is constructed of super-soft silicone.

The Dry Snorkel is available in blue, pink, yellow, black, lime, purple, crystal blue, crystal yellow, and clear. For more information and a dealer near you visit www.oceanmaster.com on the web or call 626-582-8000.

Krill™ Lamp

The Kriana Krill™ Lamp is a reusable alternative to chemical lights. It is completely waterproof and only 5-1/8" long x 1" wide at base.

The electroluminescence (el) technology used in the Krill™ lamp was developed as a cost-effective replacement for chemical lights used by the military as markers (the Navy SEALs tested the prototypes of the versions now available). The Krill™ lamp was quickly adopted by emergency service personnel for their durability and long-term cost-effectiveness over both chemical lights and flashlights. Introduced to the backpacking community as a night-vision compatible light source and as a safer alternative to candle lanterns.

Its weight without batteries is only 1 oz and 2.6 oz with the two required AA batteries. It is night vision compatible. The light produced is soft and complements human night vision by stimulating the rods in your eyes. In contrast, the light from a flashlight stimulates the cones in your eye resulting in “night blindness” when you look away from the flashlight’s illuminated area or turn it off. It is non-offensive to animal life. The light from a Krill™ Lamp is much less likely to drive off wildlife. There are some anecdotal reports that animals are actually attracted to the light.

The lamp’s burn time is 120 hours (standard models); 50 hours (extreme models). A unique electroluminescent lamp is used that uses micro encapsulated phosphors, a more powerful version of the technology used in Indigo watches. Burn life of the lamp is rated at 2,000 + hours. If you use the lamp four hours each night, two nights per week, every week of the year, it will last you five years. Usually, the lamp last over 3,000 hours. And it has an indefinite shelf life. Just add fresh batteries and the phosphors work.

The Krill™ lamp is completely Waterproof to diving depth of 100 feet (30 m). The entire lamp can survive a drop from 50 feet (15 m) onto concrete. The lamps are available in Green, Yellow, White, Blue, Orange, and Red (listed from brightest to least bright).
