Freedom
Inflatable Dive Kayak
The American WaterSports Association (AWSA), the originators of Kayak Diving, and Aire Inflatables, whitewater raft manufacturers, are introducing an inflatable personal sport kayak for diving&emdash;the Freedom.
The Freedom dive kayak is a versatile kayak for skin diving, fishing or play. This technical, durable, stable kayak can fit into a backpack for easy transport. Paddling the Freedom, you have an inboard portal to the sea through the front floor panel to view game fish, abalone, lobster or underwater treasures. You can make a quick and easy entry into the water by just dropping your feet from the adjustable footpegs for a surface dive. Returning to the kayak up through the floor portal, you have a safe support platform completely surrounding you for an easy re-entry into the dive kayak. The removable rear cargo bag holds game, gear, or a scuba tank.

Ocean Brite Systems and Ocean Images Underwater Video Housings are proud to introduce a new Dolphin housing designed to fit the Canon Elura, Sony PC-1, PC-100 & PC-300 camcorders. The unique design of these new Dolphin housings allow the videographer to operate the camcorder's LCD screen in the fully open position. This is a decided advantage when framing shots and shooting fast moving animals underwater.
These new housings are being made from urethane polymers featuring a full-view clear polycarbonate rear closure plate and incorporating all stainless steel hardware. The Dolphin housings continue the Ocean Images tradition of being affordable, compact, and completely corrosion and electrolysis free.
Control of the camcorder's functions is mechanical and the housing's standard controls include the on/off, pause/record and zoom in/out functions. Additional mechanical controls are available at nominal cost. Optional electronic controls will be available on housings for the Sony camcorders.

For decades, divers have battled with the sinus problems that comes from underwater pressure. Unable to take medications for safety reasons, most simply suffer, or don't dive. Murray Grossan, M.D., an avid scuba diver and otolaryngologist from Los Angeles, has introduced a remedy that is generating much interest among divers seeking natural and alternative remedies to diving-induced sinus problems. Dr. Grossan's company, HydroMed, has introduced the Grossan Nasal Irrigator, a tip that attaches to a Water Pik® to clear the sinuses naturally and effectively, flushing the sinuses with warm saline water.
Washing with saline removes certain virus products, making less work for the body's natural immune and disease-fighting systems. With a cold, the mucus of the nose thickens. This impairs the nasal cilia movement that is needed for health. With irrigation, the thick mucus is removed and is replaced by thin saline. This allows the cilia to move again to defend the body. Pulsation moves the cilia back and forth, which helps restore normal movement of the cilia. Warm saline encourages blood flow to the sinus and nasal passage linings. Saline is good for the nose; it keeps the nasal and sinus tissues moist and helps the nose to heal.
The Sinus Irrigator is easy to use; just add one teaspoon of salt to the basin, add a pint of water, (500 cc) set the stream so that it is almost one inch high and do both sides. With such a low pressure, there is no forcing the saline into the sinuses. The saline enters the sinuses because of the Water Pik® action and removes thick mucus under low pressure because of the pulsation. Use once a day until the nose is restored to health.
"Since divers can't take medications, nasal irrigation is a great remedy that has no side effects," said Dr. Grossan, who has treated divers since the 1970s.
