Fishers Introduce New High Power Metal Detector

Whether your tracking pipelines under the ocean floor, looking for a murder weapon thrown into a local lake, or searching for lost treasure, J.W. Fishers Diver Mag 1 is the tool that gives you maximum detection range. This high- performance metal detector can locate targets from hand guns to sunken ships, quickly and accurately. The Diver Mag 1 is a high performance marine magnetometer detection system that works equally well on land or underwater. This super sensitive detector will locate pipelines, cables, cannons, dredge parts, and just about any ferrous metal (iron/steel) object of any size. The hand held mag has user friendly controls that allow anyone to be an expert operator in no time. A convenient hand grip and shoulder strap make it easy to carry for land operations. The mag can even be operated from inside a small boat to search shallow lakes and rivers.

The Diver Mag 1 features a triaxial noise cancelling sensor that allows it to be held in any position without affecting sensitivity of stability of the readout. A five digit LED display and audio output indicate the presence of a ferrous metal target. The mag has user adjustable buoyancy and moves through the water with ease. A variable sensitivity switch makes pinpointing targets extremely easy. Power is supplied by an internal 12 volt rechargeable battery and a 120 vac battery charger is included with the system. An external belt mounted battery pack is also available for extended operations. Diver Mag 1 is constructed of high impact, corrosion proof PVC to give many years of trouble free performance and is depth rated to 200 feet. The complete system is covered by a two year warranty.

The Diver Mag 1 is the perfect addition to Fishers complete line of underwater search equipment. XIOS EyeSea

Combine exclusive military technology with the latest in digital signal processing, add a convenient hands-free design and superior detection capabilities and you get the EyeSea Diving Navigation System, an innovative new product developed by XIOS, set to transform recreational scuba diving. Utilizing an acoustic transmitter located underneath the dive boat and individual receivers worn on the wrists of each diver, the EyeSea Diving Navigation System provides the diver with the bearing and distance to the dive boat from as far away as 3,000 feet, according to Thierry Brizard, president and CEO of XIOS.

“Many scuba diving accidents occur when divers get lost on their way back to the dive boat,” said Brizard. “EyeSea provides divers and dive operators with a unique solution: a simple, yet efficient homing device that allows for divers to keep better track of the boat and in turn, a safer diving experience.”

The EyeSea is available in two models, both featuring the same wrist-worn receiver technology. The affordable EyeSea Sport is specially designed to meet the needs of individual divers and features a small, mobile transmitter. The EyeSea Pro is a valuable product for dive operators and includes a more advanced, high performance transmitter.

The EyeSea is the first product of its kind to use advanced sonar detection techniques derived from military applications in conjunction with state-of-the-art electronics. Other benefits include: Hands-free operation, automatic direction and range finding, continuous display, and 8 different channels.

Currently sold in Europe at select pro shops with specialty dive equipment. EyeSea will be available on a full-scale basis, including the United States, during the first quarter of 2001.

Armed with years of diving experience and sonar engineering expertise, XIOS charts a new course for recreational diving through the design and development of innovative navigation products. XIOS has a single goal in mind: to develop the next generation of underwater navigation systems based on the latest technologies, ultimately bringing advanced features to scuba divers.

Skyblazer Signal Pack

The personnel at Skyblazer believe that everyone who enjoys the water should also be able to enjoy peace of mind in case of an emergency. That’s why they produce one of the most effective personal safety kits on the market—the Scuba Signal Pack.

The Scuba Signal Pack from Skyblazer is designed to deliver peace of mind in case of an emergency. The pack contains one emergency red XLT aerial flare, one locating white XLT aerial flare, an emergency whistle with lanyard and a 10-mile signal mirror with lanyard. These high-quality devices come in a 4" wide x 8" long reusable nylon bag that easily attaches to BCD or life jackets.

The XLT flares are waterproof, float and withstand water pressure to a depth of 130 feet for up to 20 dives. They reach an altitude of up to 500 feet and burn for up to 8-1/2 seconds. At this altitude, they can be seen as far away as 22 miles. To launch an XLT flare upon surfacing, simply extend it to its full eight-inch length, unscrew the cap, and pull the initiator chain.

The whistle is ideal for minor signaling requirements, and the non-breakable plastic signal mirror has a center sighting target. Each year, Skyblazer tests over 10,000 flares from random batch samples to ensure quality and performance.

Aqua Explorers Quick-Release Pony Bottle Bracket

Aqua Explorers, Inc. is proud to announce the release of the new Boyonet Bracket #QRPB Quick Release Pony/Light Bracket.

The #QRPB was designed by Capt. Dan Berg to be a simple, secure, fast and easy way to mount pony bottles, and cannister light packs. Dan’s new two-piece design is unique because of the spring steel locking trigger that snaps into position locking both pieces together. The system is very easy to use. Divers mount the female half on their main cylinder with two hose clamps or a  two-inch web belt. They then use two hose clamps to mount the male half onto their pony or cannister light. Mounting the pony to the main cylinder is now as easy as sliding the two halves together until the system locks. Taking the pony off requires simply pressing the spring release trigger and sliding the brackets apart. Tanks can now be switched in seconds. The bracket is constructed of the finest 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel so it will last a lifetime. It will mount to any standard scuba tank and was designed to hold any pony or light canister snug to the main cylinder. This design eliminates the need for a locking pin. In addition, the #QRPB has a compact 2" x 3" low-profile design. The #QRBP is available at through full service dive stores.
