Hard Hat Dive Benefit — November 5 - 6
Take the plunge and experience the classic “Brass Helmet” equipment from a time before scuba even existed! Feel what it was really like to “dress in” and be hand tended in an original Mark V helmet, suit and lead boots. Imagine what it would be like to do WW II salvage work, or early bridge, pier, and port construction.

Learn all about hard-hat diving history in a safe, crystal clear, professional training facility at the College of Oceaneering in The Port of Los Angeles. Special arrangements have been made to raise funds through this event and to help a fellow member of our dive community who is recovering from a paralyzing pool accident — see www.helptravis.org online.

Take the Hero Dive! Your tax deductible donation to help one of our own experience mobility again gets you the full detailed equipment briefing and “dress in” instruction, a photo of you in the traditional gear “hero” pose, up to a 20-minute tank dive with a choice of classic helmet styles, opportunity for family and buddies to film and communicate with you underwater, choice of a free tee-shirt, and lunch.

There are limited number of just 18 spots available each day for this unique 2-day event (November 5 - 6). Call Jon Davy at 310.937.2846, Or go online to http://members.cox.net/beachdiving/helmetdays.html for more details.

Salmon Snorkel — Nov. 5
It is time again for one of the most unusual dives California has to offer — snorkeling with the migrating salmon. The Dolphin Divers dive club of Sacramento gather every year in November to swim with Chinook salmon drifting down stream on the American River. This year the snorkel will be November 5th. The water is cold and you need to be good swimmer. For more information, call Dolphin Diver Brooke at (916) 421-5060 or Brookey at (916) 952-0322.
