Guidance Needed for San Luis Obispo Diver
Hello,
I have just moved to the San Luis Obispo County area, and I have always been into water sports such as scuba, free diving, surfing and spearfishing, and fishing. However, I have only done these sports in Hawaii where I grew up. Being in California without a wetsuit has always kept me away from the water, and my ignorance with California’s underwater life was another. I have been fishing the California coast now for six months and realize that there is so much more than I had imagined. However, my in-water experience is almost nil in California waters. I surf every once in awhile at Morro bay and at Cyucos areas, but I have always had a curiosity to dive in the local waters. Would you recommend an area or areas that I could free dive from shore? I have asked people at dive shops, but the response usually is that I need to drive to the north or the south. Perhaps you can help me. The more visibility the better since I was spoiled with Hawaiian water clarity. B
For the last two years, our annual club resort trip destination was chosen from the resort representatives and owners we met at the SCUBA Show in Long Beach. Our club members will again be at the SCUBA Show this year to go shopping for our next club resort trip. It’s always fun to go meet the actual resort owners at the show and bring back a list of destinations to go over. See you there!
