Ultralight Multi-Battery Tester
Ultralight Control Systems, makers of lightweight aluminum strobe, light and accessory arms for 99 percent of all digital housings and systems, are introducing a unique battery tester that will prove invaluable for the underwater photographer. The small three-ounce battery tester tests your batteries under load. It computes the remaining power capacity using a two-second pulse load test. You’ll have the confidence of knowing if your charging in a foreign country has charged your batteries to full capacity or how much power is left in your alkaline batteries. The tester will test AA, AAA, C, D, NIMH or NiCd, alkaline, and 3 v photo lithium, or 9v. Visit the Ultralight web site at www.ulcs.com or their exhibit at SCUBA Show 2005, May 21-22 in Long Beach (www.saintbrendan.com). Ultralight will be selling the battery tester at the SCUBA Show for a show-special price.

Dive-Xtra X-Scooters
After years of design, engineering and testing, the new and innovative X-Scooter is being introduced by Dive-Xtras. Two models make the X-Scooter a choice for divers of all interests, budgets, skill levels, and applications.
The ergonomically designed T-handle and light weight design makes this power plant easy to handle even for a novice.
Echo and Frisco are the designations of the two new models. With a maximum thrust easily sufficient to haul large equipment loads and fight strong currents, the Echo was designed primarily with technical divers in mind. The Frisco on the other hand was designed more for the recreational diver, who is likely to require less “top end” thrust and so uses the X-Scooter’s technological advances in other ways. With the 25 percent reduction in thrust comes a significant advance in endurance (AKA burn time).
Not only are the X-Scooters modular in design (parts fully interchangeable with each other) but should you wish to upgrade your Frisco (perhaps because the type of diving you do changes), this can be done at any time by the factory or dealer.
You can choose between a single battery (standard body), two battery (long body) and three battery (extra long body) versions. All body lengths are interchangeable between both scooter models . For more information, please visit the Dive-Xtras web site www.dive-xtras.com or see the scooters in person at Dive-Xtras exhibit at SCUBA Show 2005, May 21-22 at the Long Beach Convention Center (www.saintbrendan.com).
Top Tank Mounting Bracket System
Sea Life SCUBA is introducing a new product called the Top Tank Mounting Bracket System. The mounting bracket system replaces the need of securing the divers SCUBA tank to the BCD with tank bands.
The Top Tank Mounting Bracket System is comprised of lightweight user friendly aluminum brackets, which attach to the BCD, the main SCUBA tank, and spare pony tank. The complete tank kit is designed to be used with a BCD which has two holes typically used for attaching double tank brackets. One bracket is attached to the BCD by means of two stainless steel screws, and another bracket is attached to the main SCUBA tank with two BCD type tank bands. The two brackets are joined together and secured with security pins. Pony tank brackets are included in the kit. The complete Top Tank Mounting Bracket System kit includes everything needed for a two main tanks and a pony tank. Variations of the Top Tank Mounting Bracket System can be purchased for stand-alone applications as well. SeaLife SL960D Digital Flash
SeaLife is introducing a new digital flashthe SL960D. The much anticipated digital flash works with all SeaLife cameras as well as all other brands of camera/housing combinations.
SeaLifes Digital Flash has five pre-flash settings to work with cameras that have up to four pre-flashes or the ability to turn the pre-flash off. The SL960D also has a variable power adjustment for precise control of the flashs output.
This flash allows for more precise lighting control required by todays sensitive digital cameras, says SeaLifes Director of Sales & Marketing, Joe Ifi.
In the world of macro photography, especially while diving, lighting is the key to great colorful shots. The most common problem is over flashing the subject, but with the SeaLife SL960D Digital Flash one can fine-tune the output for that perfect close-up. Also extremely useful for close-ups is the flexible rubber arm that allows for an infinite amount of adjustment as well as a soft sure grip. The new flash is also powerful with a guide number of 20 for those shots in the six-to eight-foot range.
The SeaLife SL960D Digital Flash comes packaged with arm, universal base for use with most digital housings, Flash-Link Fiber Optic Cable and deluxe soft carrying case.
