CA Dive Center Continues in Tsunami Recovery
Several members of the instructor team California Dive Center have been working on a tsunami recovery project in Sri Lanka since last March. Work continues in teams working 3-4 days a week, 15 hours a day. These instructors, their friends and family and their employer, dive store owner Bill Oakes, have dedicated a ton of time, energy and money in helping a small town in Sri Lanka, devastated by the tsunami, get back on its feet.
We intentionally did this under the radar, not seeking a lot of attention. In retrospect, that was a mistake, due to the lack of equipment we faced. Donations are a good thing, stated Oakes. Now, as the stories come back of the conditions, the people, the sheer joy the teams are having, its become something that I personally feel needs to be shared with more than just the customers of California Dive Center. These guys really are doing something amazing to help the world.
For more information on their project and to learn how to help and donate to their efforts, visit www.cadive.com online.
